Today’s watercolour is an example of how I got started on my “Preserved” paintings. The painting is of one of my mother’s jam jars being displayed oh so proudly on that bit of crystal. By the time I did this painting I had done quite a few of actual preserves (jam mostly), and was looking for a way to stretch the idea out. That’s when I started to put other less tasty “preserves” into the jars.
