THROWBACK THURSDAY

Preserved Ship in Bottle watercolour 18″x12″

This is a watercolour I did last year. It comes from an ongoing group of work that I call PRESERVES. The mason jar has been used to preserve jams and jellies. It also is a convenient place to store other “treasures”. In this image I’ve used the mason jar to preserve a photo of a ship. It came from an old family album, and in my mind represents one of the ships my grandparents made their way to Canada on.
